The existing members of the Sahuarita Town Council have narrowed the list of candidates from 23 to 2, and have appointed Simon Davis and Erik Dahl to the Council.

In a public meeting on Monday, August 19th, the two were appointed after an application review and interview process by the existing council members. The other four finalists were Kathleen Camp, Marty Moreno, Myra McCune, and Sergio Arrellano.

Dahl comes from a background of law enforcement, and has been a police officer for over 25 years. For the last 9 years, he has worked as a criminal investigations supervisor for the State of Arizona, and moved to Sahuarita from Wisconsin in 2009.

Davis has worked in the community for over 32 years, and has lived here for the last 14 years. He is the Vice Chair for the La Posada Board of Trustees, is on the Arizona Fire District Association Executive Board, and is the Corona de Tucson Fire District Chief, among other elected, board and committee roles.

The two newly appointed members will be officially sworn in at a regular council meeting on Monday, August 26th.
