Grace Lutheran Church and Child Learning Center are among the newest buildings to be added to the skyline of Sahuarita, at the southwest corner of Sahuarita Rd. and La Villita.  After 18 months of planning, permits and construction, they are now open to the public.

Grace Sahuarita, formerly Peace Lutheran Church, joined the Grace family in 2014. Pastor Ryan Heiman shared that the new church building in Rancho Sahuarita is a blend of southwest and traditional architectural style, paired with a modern and cozy interior. He also said that the space is flexible in design so that it can accommodate social distancing, and that “the picturesque bell tower and roofline are beautiful in front of the backdrop of the Santa Rita Mountains, and the historical bell rings every Sunday inviting the community to worship.”

The Child Learning Center is a childcare facility, offering full time child care for infants age 6-weeks through preschool age children, and afterschool care for children in Kindergarten through 5th grade. This comes as a welcomed addition in the community, meeting an important need for many families of the area.

Pastor Heiman spoke of the opening saying: “Grace Lutheran Church and Child Learning Center is excited to be part of the Rancho Sahuarita community and looks forward to meeting our neighbors. Our investment in the community shows our commitment to the town and to its future.”

He continued: “This investment in the community as well as in the children can be seen on the outside of the beautiful buildings, but even more evidently if you take a tour of our modern, safe, and spacious classrooms. Those features paired with a full-sized gymnasium and outdoor playground means children have space to run and play both indoors and outdoors.”

A Grand Opening is planned for January 16th at 12:00 p.m. Everyone is invited to check it out and join in the festivities, (more information about the event and the new buildings can be found on the church’s website, at www.gracelutheransaz.org/sahuarita.)
